NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 9, 2022) – Viral pop sensation Auti is pondering what many do after losing a loved one to suicide in her new single “4 Years” – available now on all digital platforms. A melancholy memoriam, written for the best friend she lost when he took his own life, “4 Years” drops as Suicide Prevention Week comes to a close.

Listen to “4 Years” HERE

“On the 4-year anniversary date of my friend’s passing due to suicide, I sat down at the piano and just… talked to him,” Auti told HollywoodLife, who premiered the ballad exclusively yesterday (9/8). “I said everything that I wish I could have said to him, both before and after he had passed. That’s how my song ‘4 Years’ came to life.”

Signed with Pivotal Records – a label itself known for strong messaging in and support of mental health – Auti first gained notoriety when a cover video she did with her dad performing “Shallow” from the blockbuster hit A Star Is Born went viral, accumulating hundreds of millions of views collectively. Since then, she’s continued to write and record new music, all the while remaining deeply rooted in her calling to bring awareness to suicide prevention and mental health.

“Through my music, I acknowledge the baggage that so many of us carry around and try to avoid – like a heavy weight. Everyone finds themselves dealing with mental health issues at some point in their lives, and I believe it is extremely important that we address those tough times, because it is the first step to preventing suicide.”

Auti recently wrapped filming for a video to accompany “4 Years” – the visual is due out mid-September.

ABOUT AUTI:

At the ripe old age of 14, Auti went viral in a video singing “Shallow” (originally performed by Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper) with her dad. To date, her videos have amassed over 400 million views across all social media platforms. Along with her weekly social media live performances and her following in the hundreds of thousands, Auti is setting the stage for an opportunity to change the world and get her message out. With the relative “overnight” success and recognition, Auti started teaching herself multiple instruments to properly capture the lyrics she had been writing for years. Her talents led to partnerships with famed producers like Kent Wells (Dolly Parton) and Jason Roy (Building 429), opening spots for multi-platinum, GRAMMY nominated artist Ty Herndon, Brady Seals, and Jamie Floyd, and a duet with artist MattyB that added another 3 million views to her portfolio. In 2021, Auti signed with Pivotal Records, a division of Pivotal Moments Media, a company with a mission to promote mental wellness through education and entertainment.

In 2021, Auti won “Artist of the Year” at The Josie Award – the largest independent artist award show globally – and is nominated again in 2022.

Pivotal Moments Media announces partnership with Rachel’s Challenge to strengthen mental health

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Pivotal Moments Media announces partnership with Rachel’s Challenge to strengthen mental health

  • Pivotal Moments Media (PMM) was formed to strengthen mental fitness through entertainment and education
  • Rachel’s Challenge addresses the root causes of school violence,  bullying, prejudice and self-harm
  • The organization honors Rachel Scott, a Columbine HS shooting victim

Nashville, Tenn., September 8, 2022 – Pivotal Moments Media announced today that it has formed a partnership with Rachel’s Challenge to bring education and entertainment programs to help young people around the world cultivate self-worth and improve their mental health.

Rachel’s Challenge addresses the root causes of school violence, bullying, prejudice and self-harm through social-emotional learning programs that build connection, hope and resilience. Its namesake, Rachel Scott, was a victim of the Columbine High School shooting, one of the first widely known mass school shootings in the U.S.

PMM is a newly formed global entertainment and education brand that creates, distributes, and promotes entertainment and education programs that inspire and motivate people to become mentally fit, overcome adversity, and lead fulfilling lives.

PMM recently announced it signed social media and indie music sensation Auti as an ambassador for youth suicide prevention and mental health. A PMM spokesperson said that the combination of Auti and Rachel’s Challenge creates a positive megaphone for cultivating teenage self-worth and pushing back against the negative influences that threaten their mental health.

“Youth are bombarded with messages that pierce holes in any positive images they have about themselves,” said Bob Morgan, President & Founder, Pivotal Moments Media.  “Having productive social-emotional learning programs and a role model like Auti use a global platform to counter the harmful noise emanating from social media, from a negative body image to bullying and feelings of worthlessness, can go a long way to helping young people feel safe and supported.”

Rachel Scott’s father, Darrell Scott, and her stepmom Sandy started Rachel’s Challenge after discovering the legacy of kindness and compassion Rachel left behind following her death. The organization works with schools to improve and sustain a culture where harassment, violence and self-harm are reduced, where teachers are free to teach and students are empowered to learn.

An independent study conducted by Multi-Dimensional Education, LLC, a nationally recognized educational program evaluator, found that, “Schools implementing Rachel’s Challenge with fidelity achieved statistically significant gains in community engagement, faculty/student relationships, leadership potential, and school climate; along with a reduction in bullying behavior.”

Using age-appropriate programming for K-12, Rachel’s Challenge schools have reported up to 84% reductions in disciplinary referrals. More than 150 suicides are averted annually, as reported by students themselves. In a pre- and post-attitudinal survey of 9,881 students from socioeconomically and demographically diverse schools across the U.S. and Canada, respondents reported a 282% increase in the number of students feeling safe at school after participating in Rachel’s Challenge.

“We know that positive connections improve self-worth and improve mental health, including reducing youth suicide” said Kristi Krings, Rachel’s Challenge CEO. “Encouraging positive actions and highlighting positive influences can fuel and fortify our youth so they feel more powerful than the negative influences that surround them daily.”

In just over two decades of social-emotional and mental health training, Rachel’s Challenge has reached over 30 million students, educators, and community members. Rachel’s Challenge continues to work hard to turn the ideals of kindness and compassion into actionable strategies that help promote a safe and productive learning environment.

About Ty Herndon

Ty Herndon is a groundbreaking country music artist who burst onto the scene and made his chart debut in 1995 with “What Mattered Most,” which became his first No. 1 song and garnered a Song of the Year award (Music Row Magazine). It was also the title track to his first album, which debuted on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and had the biggest first-week shipment in the history of Epic Records Nashville.

Between 1995 and 2002, Herndon charted 17 singles, including his three No.1s and numerous top 10 hits, such as “I Want My Goodbye Back,” “Loved Too Much,” “A Man Holding On,” and “Hands of a Working Man.” He topped the charts in 1996 with the single “Living in a Moment” and again in 1998 with “It Must Be Love.”

In 2014, Herndon became the first major male country artist to publicly come out as gay in an exclusive with People magazine. He received an outpouring of support that only strengthened his relationship with fans and the country music community, all while expanding his reach to new and diverse audiences. Shortly after, he made history when he hosted a first-of-its-kind country music event, The Concert for Love and Acceptance, now an annual event that provides a stage for LGBTQ and allied artists. In 2020, he created the Foundation For Love & Acceptance to further his work on behalf of LGBTQ acceptance.

Herndon found himself back at No. 1 in 2020 — this time on iTunes with his remake of “Orphans of God,” a collaboration with Kristin Chenoweth and Paul Cardall featured on his holiday release, Regifted. He is currently working on a new album, JACOB, his first of all-new music since 2016’s House On Fire.

Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning, Ty’s voice is stronger than it’s ever been, and he’s using it to make a difference. In 2020, he created the Foundation For Love & Acceptance to further his work on behalf of LGBTQ acceptance and lends his time and talent to MusiCares, which has supported Ty through his own struggles and supports those in the music industry with a safety net of services. In 2022, he joined Pivotal Moments Media as a Brand Ambassador and as the first artist signed to the organization’s new record label, Pivotal Moments Music.
